New Chapter Installation.
Below is a picture of the new Xi Omicron members, from the Alpha Omicron Pi website.
Alpha Omicron Pi has landed their first choice of property in Fayetteville to build a new chapter house for Xi Omicron. The property is located at the corner of Whitham Street and Maple Street. It is anticipated that the house will open for the 2007-2008 academic year. The 30,000 square foot house will sleep 85 women and cost $4-$5 million. The house will be located between the Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sigma Chi houses, and there are several other women's fraternity houses located along Maple Street. The Inn at Carnell Hall, which was originally built as a women's dormitory in 1906, is located directly across the street from the property. The Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in December, 1982, and has recently been remodeled to serve as an on-campus inn. For a view of the property location, you can visit www.uark.edu. Click on "visitors" on the top tool bar and then select "campus map." Click on the "B2" section to locate the Alpha Omicron Pi property, which is currently part of campus parking. An interesting bit of trivia for Phi alumnae...our beloved house mother "Mom Bonn," who was the last house mom at Phi, attended the University of Arkansas! She was an initiate of Chi Omega, and is still at the University of Kansas serving as the house mom for Delta Gamma. She will be thrilled to hear that Alpha Omicron Pi has colonized at her alma mater.
