A New Year, New Events!

The fall edition of the Kansas City Alumnae Chapter's newsletter should be hitting your mailbox any day now, and it's jam-packed with information you won't want to miss. If you don't receive one and would like to, send us an email and let us know how you want to receive it- by email or by mail. There are over 800 AOII's in the greater Kansas City area and it's expensive to print and mail so many newsletters, so we are making an effort this year to convert as many people as possible to email. However, if you want to continue receiving a paper newsletter we will certainly be happy to send you one! New Fall Fundraiser We are initiating a new fall fundraiser to help us fund scholarships, Founder's Day, and other events this year. Since our plant sale is so popular every spring, we are selling mums from Greeson's Greenhouse (the same spring flower supplier).

• Orders are due THIS FRIDAY, September 11.
• Plants will be available for pickup in Olathe on Monday, September 28.
• All mums are in 2 gallon pots and cost $8 each.
• Available colors: orange/bronze, lavender, red, white, and yellow.
• If you didn't get a paper or email newsletter and want to order mums, send us an email right away and we'll get details to you.

Day Group Meeting The first day group meeting of the year will be next Monday, September 14, at The Forum. The group will meet from 12-2 pm and enjoy lunch. The cost for lunch is $9.50. Please RSVP to Cherie at 913-648-4980 if you will be attending the meeting. Happy Hour Social The first evening event will be held on Wednesday, September 16, at the Houlihan's restaurant located at 16411 W 119th Street in Olathe. We'll meet at 7 p.m. for snacks, drinks, and conversation. This was one of our most popular events last year, don't miss it! Send us an email to RSVP to the social. T.A.K.E. Self Defense Class Looking further ahead in the month, plan to attend the self defense workshop put on by T.A.K.E.- The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation. The event is located at Kauffman Stadium from 10 am to noon. Send us an email to RSVP to this event, so we can let the organizers know how many to expect. We can also arrange carpools and rides for those who are interested. We hope to see you at one of our events this month!
